Autism and The TEN Academy

Autism and The TEN Academy

An adequately prepared training programme and strong support are essential for individuals with autism. A single programme or strategy does not suit the needs of every person with ASD. We understand the importance of tailoring training and support programmes to meet these individuals' specific needs and interests. The TEN (Targeted Educational Needs) Academy was established to provide unique support to individuals with autism and their families. The TEN Academy is an online platform that creates tailored programmes, materials, interviews, training and events to provide individuals and their families with the proper support to adapt to their environment. The TEN Academy is committed to supporting individuals with ASD in every aspect of their lives, offering customised programmes and activities in collaboration with families and individuals.

The TEN Academy’s Ethos is;

“Nobody should be left behind”.

This includes individuals with autism as well as their parents/ carers, siblings, teachers, families, friends and any person in their life.

Our vision;

Families need to feel secure that they can comfortably and confidently support their child in a proactive and hands-on manner, knowing when things are right and when things are wrong without being judged as neurotic parents.

The TEN Academy believes it is paramount to support and guide individuals with autism and their families to reach their full potential.

Our mission;

To create a better future for SEN individuals, their families and other institutions.

We believe that behavioral, psychological, educational, and skills-building interventions can assist individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). These interventions can help individuals learn, adapt to the world around them, and live independently or with minimal support from others. Tailored interventions can also assist individuals with developing social, communication, and language skills.

The TEN Academy will organise meetings with individuals and their parents or carers to gather information about individual’s abilities, interests, needs, and requests. We will then create a personalised programme for each person because every autistic individual has different abilities; some may be visual learners, some may be auditory learners, and others may be kinesthetic learners. The TEN Academy will identify the individual's best learning style and develop lessons or activities accordingly.

We know that there is no defined conclusion on what causes autism, and since autism is not a disease or illness, there is no cure for it. The only solace is found in knowledge, nurturing, dedication, and education, which help to strengthen the individual's ability to navigate the outside world.

Raising a child with autism can be an emotional and challenging journey, but it is also incredibly special. We want families and everyone in the individual's life to know that they are not alone. We are here to support you and the special person in your life.

The TEN Academy aims to be with you on this journey from the beginning and constantly;

· During the diagnostic process, we will help you with what you need to do and the next steps.

· We will be here to support your feelings and listen to you.

· We will inform you about what you can do as a parent or caregiver during this process and what resources you can benefit from.

· It will help you and your children or the special individual in your life about what you can do on this journey.

· We will prepare training on improving academic and social life and living conditions.

The TEN Academy offers expert advice, support, and personalised programmes. Our team includes psychologists, occupational therapists, and education and life coaches. We offer a wide range of benefits to our programmes to support and help you along the way.
